OPICO celebrate a 30-year partnership at LAMMA 2025 with a black and gold Harrow & Seeder
A showpiece OPICO expects will draw the attention of visitors at LAMMA is a limited-edition, black and gold 6m Grass Harrow and Seeder, produced to mark the three-decade long partnership with Austrian manufacturer, Hatzenbichler.
Introduced by OPICO to the UK market in 1994, Hatzenbichler Comb Harrows were originally sold into the organic and arable markets as mechanical weeding machines. The Grass Harrow itself, which features heavier 7mm and 8mm tines, was launched in January 1995 after feedback to the OPICO sales team lead to thicker tines being developed for Grassland work.
The spring tine Grass Harrow proved popular with farmers looking to revitalise their pastures and is now considered a stalwart of machinery on many livestock farms across the country. Over 10,000 harrows have been sold by OPICO since 1994 - a testament to the build quality and attention to detail which OPICO sought-out in the early 1990s.
Commenting on the momentous milestone with Hatzenbichler, OPICO Managing Director James Woolway said, “Hatzenbichler’s range of grassland and mechanical weeding equipment have been an integral part of the OPICO range for 30 years - we’re proud of the successes and results these machines have provided farmers and contractors across the UK over this time. We continue to work closely with their R&D team to ensure that the offering continues to meets the requirements of current and future farming practises”.
Later this spring OPICO will be offering a chance to win the use of the 30th Anniversary Harrow and Seeder for a year, and following this, it will be auctioned off for charity.
OPICO will display their range of grassland machinery, mechanical weeding and grain dryers in Hall 6, stand 440 at the NEC at LAMMA Show in January.
