Road-show talks on improving grassland from the ‘bottom up’
OPICO is holding a series of events on how farmers can improve their grassland from the ‘bottom up’. Hosted by their local OPICO dealer, the evening discussions will be held in Scotland and the north of England and will cover the key principles of soil management, as well as offering expert advice from OPICO’s grassland product manager Neil Robinson.
The meetings will cover a range of topics aimed at improving soil structure, this will include the importance of healthy soil, the efficient use of nutrients, the daily cost of grazing, surface capping and solutions to compaction.
In February, machinery dealer Rickerby Ltd will host events held at Myerscough Agricultural College Preston, Lancashire on 21st February and Hexham Auction Mart, Tyne Green, Northumberland on 27th February.
In March, further events are scheduled at: Cross Keys Hotel, Kelso, on 1st March hosted by Rickerby Ltd; and at Depot Commerce Road, Stranraer on the 6th March hosted by J&S Montgomery; and at Skipton Auction Mart, west Yorkshire, on the 14 March, hosted by Townson Tractors.
